Declared a national monument in 1973, and originally part of the Groot Constantia Estate, this elegant 17th century cape Dutch manor house is now the home of the thriving Alphen Hotel.

It recently underwent a complete refurbishment, creating a luxury oasis in the heart of Cape Town’s Constantia wine lands. Well-known Cape Town interior designers, Arrcc were tasked with crafting an atmosphere of contemporary opulence, while maintaining the rich history of a bygone era. With a reputation for considered and engaging interiors, Arrcc have managed to develop a style focused on detail and substance. They worked cleverly with the authentic charm of the existing heritage framework, combining classic designs with contemporary glamour and a bold colour palette.

The Cloete family have owned the property for an incredible 150 years. 300 classical works from their personal art collection have been incorporated throughout the hotel. These sit side by side with specially commissioned modern works, creating a dynamic and stimulating backdrop.
